The Toon Town Big Band was established in the fall of 2010. Directed by Larry Hume, the band started with 9 musicians and has rapidly grown to a group of 19 in a typical big band configuration (5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, bass, drums, piano and 2 vocalists). The musicians are from varied backgrounds with age ranges from young to, … well, not so young! … all brought together for the love of music and that full, rich big band sound
Music style: Already with a strong fan base, the band has entertained enthusiastic crowds of both dancers and jazz lovers with their energy filled performances. The Toon Town Big Band is extremely versatile. With well over 1200 charts to choose from, the music played covers a wide range of genres, from jazz, classic big band swing, to more contemporary popular music, a few of which are our own arrangements. Basically, we have music for many tastes.

Dance repertoire: Depending upon client needs, the TTBB can include in its dance card any combination of: Jive, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Slow Waltz, Vienese Waltz, Cha Cha, Rhumba, Salsa, Mombo, Samba, Tango, Night Club Two Step, Polka, Two Step, and Quickstep.
